Lake Levels
SPahrk
Well the forest will grow back
After the fire
The ocean will swell up
With the tide
And the old man
Will forgive all the liars
And the lake levels will finally rise
Well the words came down from the mountain
And they were swallowed up by the sea
And the world tried to drink from the fountain
Crying, “Surely this will set us free!”
Well the forest will grow back
After the fire
The ocean will swell up
With the tide
And the old man
Will forgive all the liars
And the lake levels will finally rise
Well in the end
We conserve only what we love.
And we love
Only what we understand.
And we understand
Only what we’ve been taught.
So surely we can be better men.
Well the Earth will grow cracks from the shaking
And the shadow will pass over the moon,
Before the eyes of those that are still waiting,
Crying, “Surely we will be home soon…”
